  • Alexander Schack

    FOUNDER

    Mr. Schack received a degree in Economics from Rutgers College in 1978. In December of 1981, he received his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Diego School of Law (State Bar No. 99126). In 1985 he passed the California CPA exam (although he is not a C.P.A.) and received an LL.M in Taxation from the University of San Diego School of Law. He was employed by the former “big six” accounting firms of Arthur Andersen and Company (Los Angeles) and KPMG Peat Marwick (San Diego) for approximately four years. His client list included MGM, Wickes Furniture, Circus Circus, S.E. Rykoff, Ernest Borgnine, Santa Catalina Island Co., San Diego Hall of Champions, National Pen, etc.

    Since 1988, Mr. Schack has represented both consumers and businesses in numerous complex litigation lawsuits. He has orally argued before the Fourth Appellate District and Second Appellate District on at least five separate occasions. In one case in particular, the Fourth Appellate District - Division One, set aside approximately two hours for appellate discussion to analyze the antitrust jurisdiction of a Superior Court to hear an action under the Cartwright Act for price fixing against the cellular telephone carriers in light of the jurisdiction of the California Public Utilities Commission to approve cellular telephone rates. That appellate discussion resulted in the published opinion of Cellular Plus v. Superior Court, 14 Cal.App.4th 1224 (cert.denied July 1, 1993). This opinion has twice been the subject of articles in Competition - the Journal of the Antitrust and Trade Regulation Section of the State Bar of California. He also is a former adjunct professor at the University of San Diego.

  • Natasha Serino

    MANAGING ATTORNEY

    Natasha Serino joined Schack Law Group over a decade ago and now serves as the firm’s managing attorney. During this time, she’s worked on a variety of complex litigation cases, with a particular emphasis on mass torts, class actions, data breach litigation and fire litigation.

    Ms. Serino currently represents wildfire victims affected by the Kincade, North Bay, Camp, and Woolsey Fires and was appointed Co-Liaison Counsel for Individual Plaintiffs in the Canyon Fire Litigation. She has successfully guided hundreds of survivors through the fire recovery process and handles the firm’s high-value claims, including 300 to 3,000-acre properties with large-scale loss. Whether the claim is small or large, however, Ms. Serino seeks to be a zealous advocate for all clients, many of whom just faced the biggest tragedy of their life.

    As privacy law continues to develop, Ms. Serino’s data breach practice has also expanded. Most recently, she was appointed co-lead class counsel in the Minted Data Breach Litigation, in which Plaintiffs secured a $5 million class action settlement for affected consumers.

    Prior to this work, Ms. Serino, together with her colleague Shannon Nocon, obtained a $25 million judgment against Alaska Airlines for violations of the California Labor Code. Ms. Serino was six months pregnant when she acted as first chair.

    As a strong advocate for justice, Ms. Serino takes on many high-profile companies. She is a firm believer that reasonableness and professionalism will always win the day. She has a Bachelor of Science from the University of California San Diego, where she studied quantitative economics and graduated in three years. She also has a background in journalism. Outside of work, Natasha raises 3 boys under 5 and is an active volunteer at their school. She enjoys cooking, running and spending time with her family.

  • Shannon Nocon

    ATTORNEY

    Shannon Nocon practices in the areas of employment, disaster-related litigation, and consumer fraud. She received her undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Oregon, and graduated magna cum laude from the University of San Diego School of Law, where she served as Vice Chair of the Appellate Moot Court Board and member of the San Diego Law Review. Ms. Nocon also externed for the Honorable Gonzalo P. Curiel and for the California Office of the Attorney General, argued a 6th amendment issue in the California Court of Appeal, and competed in several intramural and national appellate moot court competitions. Prior to law school, Ms. Nocon worked as an administrative and marketing assistant for Noah Homes, Inc., a residential home for adults with developmental disabilities. Through this work, she developed a passion for serving, assisting, and advocating for those in need that she has carried forward into her legal career.

  • Jordan Kellogg

    ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

    Jordan Kellogg first joined Schack Law Group in 2021 as a Law Clerk while completing her Juris Doctorate at the University of San Diego School of Law. She received her undergraduate degree with honor in Human Services and International Affairs from Northeastern University. Prior to law school, Ms. Kellogg worked as a Special Education teacher and developed a passion for advocating for those in need.

    At the University of San Diego School of Law, she received an Outstanding Child Advocate Award for her extensive work in the Children’s Advocacy Institute’s Legal Clinics. Ms. Kellogg was able to work for various public agencies writing and arguing motions for foster youth and individuals with mental health diagnoses. She has developed a passion for zealous client advocacy and she looks forward to using her research, writing, and analytical skills to further serve her clients throughout her legal career.

  • Jesse Schram

    ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

    Jesse Schram brings his dynamic and accomplished legal experience to the Schack Law Group, adding a fresh dimension to our team. Born and raised in San Diego, Mr. Schram brings a unique blend of academic excellence, community leadership, networking, and an unwavering commitment to ethical practices, all fueled by a passion to drive positive change.

    Jesse completed his undergraduate degree at San Diego State University, where he earned dean’s list honors throughout his studies in Sociology and Industrial-Organizational Psychology. Thereafter, he continued a pursuit of education at California Western School of Law, also located in San Diego. During his time at law school, Mr. Schram’s exceptional academic performance earned him the award of “Student of Distinction” and Dean’s List honors, along with the prestige and honor of being elected by his classmates as President of the student body association. Such accomplishments underscore Mr. Schram’s dedication to excelling both in the classroom and in leadership roles.

    Mr. Schram’s legal practice has been marked by a diverse range of specialties, including business and real estate law, ADA/Fair Housing law, and business litigation. His extensive knowledge and experience in these areas makes him a valuable asset to Schack Law Group, ensuring that clients receive comprehensive and effective legal representation.

    Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mr. Schram is also a compassionate and community-minded individual. In 2015, Mr. Schram founded a local non-profit public charity dedicated to raising educational awareness for social and political issues, showcasing his commitment to the betterment of his community.

  • Kathleen Schack

    DAMAGE EXPERT/OWNER OF SFS DRESSAGE

    Kathy graduated from the University of San Diego School of Business in 1983 earning her Bachelor of Science degree. In 1985 she received her Masters in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from the University of San Diego. Upon graduation Kathy went to work for Rohr, Inc. At Rohr Kathy was responsible for all aspects of Program Finance, Accounting, and Program Management.

    Kathy possesses a wealth of experience in diverse fields. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with a wide range of experts ( i.e. landscaping, business loss assessment, antique appraisal, large equipment evaluation, civil war artifacts analysis, and classic car assessments). Notably, she possesses a deep and specialized expertise in equine-related damages, showcasing her high level of knowledge in this specific domain.

    In addition, Kathy also takes on the pivotal role of managing the accounting department within her firm. Her versatility and ability to handle financial responsibilities further highlight her valuable contributions to the organization's success.

    In her freetime, she enjoys riding horses at her “happy place” SFS Dressage and spending time with her grandkids.

  • John Schack

    CLIENT INTAKE MANAGER, PARALEGAL

    John is a 2011 graduate of California State University San Marcos where he received a Bachelor’s of Arts degree. Throughout college, John worked for the Schack Law Group as a paralegal.

    John is responsible for managing the mass tort department of the firm. He is primarily responsible for marketing and coordination with partner law firms of this aspect of the business. Some of the mass torts SLG are currently involved in include Talcum Powder, Round-up, Camp Lejeune, 3M Earplugs, Hernia Mesh and Hair Relaxer.

    John helped compile mediation packages for hundreds of clients relating to the 2007 San Diego wildfire lawsuit against SDGE and Sempra. John has continued his fire litigation experience being a lead in compiling mediation packages and damage questionnaires for clients effected by the Thomas Fire, Zogg Fire, Woolsey Fire, and Canyon Fire. Currently, SLG is involved in the 2017 Northern California fires (Paradise, Camp), 2019 Kincade Fire, 2019 Saddleridge Fire, 2021 Dixie fire, and 2022 Hinkley/Synagro Waste Fire. John continues to manage a team in compiling the damage questionnaires and mediation packages to ensure clients receive maximum compensation for their damages.

    In our firm, John is known for his diligence and detailed oriented personality.

    In his free time, John enjoys playing with his two very active children and being outdoors. Depending on the season, John is either an avid snowboarder or wakeboarder. John also recently found a passion for hot Yoga where he attempts to practice multiple times a week.

  • Sergio Castillo

    PARALEGAL

    Meet Sergio, a proud alumnus of Creighton University, located in Omaha, NE, where he Graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

    In March of 2012, Sergio joined Schack Law Group, and from the very beginning, he demonstrated unwavering dedication and passion for his work. His journey at the firm commenced with his involvement in the 2007 Wildfire cases, where his linguistic abilities allowed him to play a vital role as an interpreter and translator for Spanish speakers. Sergio's mission was clear—to ensure that Spanish-speaking clients received the maximum compensation for their damages. Not only fluent in Spanish, but he also possesses an innate proficiency in reading and writing the language, enabling him to bridge cultural gaps and advocate effectively for those in need.

    Since 2007, Sergio has been actively engaged in assisting with numerous wildfires across California, Nevada and Colorado, a testament to his commitment to serving communities in their times of distress. Presently, he is involved in the 2021 Marshall Fire in Denver, CO, as well as the Hinkley/Synagro Waste Fire, where he brings his expertise to the forefront in overseeing overhead Google Earth mapping. In this capacity, Sergio takes charge of clients' property lines, parcel boundaries, and real estate parcel attribute data, showcasing his keen eye for detail.

    Sergio's contributions extend beyond the legal arena. He plays a crucial role in overseeing consulting experts at Schack Law Group, collaborating with professionals from various domains, including construction/infrastructure, marketing & advertising, insurance, and arborist/landscaping. His ability to work collaboratively with experts from diverse fields highlights his versatility and leadership skills.

    With an unwavering passion for making a positive difference in the lives of others, Sergio's adventurous spirit propels him to continually grow both personally and professionally.
