Global Settlement

There was a global settlement reached of approximately $4 billion. This settlement is still moving through the implementation phase.

Key Details:

• Hawaiian Electric agreed to contribute about $1.99 billion—roughly half the total settlement.

• Other contributing parties include: state and county government entities; Charter Communications; other involved parties tied to infrastructure, land near origin and response failures.

Next Steps - Distribution

The Settlement Administrator is currently evaluating submitted claims and will begin issuing determination notices to individual claimants once this process is complete.
