Complimentary Policy Review

Insurance policies can sometimes feel like reading another language. We’re here to help. Our team offers complimentary insurance policy review. We can also answer questions about common concerns and insurance issues. As you begin the recovery journey there are important things to consider with insurance. These include whether your policy covers alternative living (and for how long) and whether you have extended replacement coverage. Extended replacement coverage (also called ERC) is additional coverage (typically a percentage of your dwelling coverage) that is generally only available if you rebuild your dwelling.

Get Started Now

  • Immediately contact your insurer to get a claim started (even if you’re not sure if coverage applies)

  • Insurance claims can take time so it’s best to start as soon as you’re able.  Even if you think your damage was minimal compared to others, insurance can help with the cost of cleaning, etc.

Homeowners

  • The first thing you should discuss with your agent is temporary housing. Also ask if they can provide an immediate stipend for necessities.

  • Some insurance carriers will require receipts for daily spending but may cover meals and anything you need to buy while displaced.  Therefore, save all receipts.

Business Insurance

  • Depending on the policy, some business insurance may cover business interruption even if your business property wasn’t destroyed in the fire.

  • Talk to your agent and request a copy of your policy.  We can help you review if they deny coverage.
