About Us

You deserve more than just an attorney. Find out who we are.

Local and Knowledgeable

Our law offices began in 1991 serving small businesses in the cellular telephone industry against big industry players committing antitrust violations. Since then we have expanded our practice to include a variety of cases and clients. This diverse practice, which largely focuses on representing plaintiffs, is unique among law firms. Our lawyers have litigated claims in the areas of wildfire litigation, consumer fraud and protection, antitrust, employment, personal injury, false advertising, and pyramid schemes. We represent plaintiffs in class and mass actions as well as in individual lawsuits.  We frequently prevail in cases against Fortune 500 companies because we believe no one is above the law and everyone deserves competent representation. While our practice focuses on actions in California, it often extends to cases throughout the country.  Our firm is also a community law firm that served San Diego after the 2007 San Diego Wildfires. Since then, we have continued advocating for fire survivors.

Looking Out For You

We believe that what makes our practice unique is our focus on the clients.  Regardless of the type of case, whether it’s a class action, a mass action, or an individual action, each client receives individualized service and attention.  We’ll work with you to understand the unique issues of your case and develop an approach that involves you, the client. We also believe the attorney-client relationship begins with compassion. This is particularly important since much of our work deals with sensitive and difficult issues (i.e. the loss of a home after a fire, sexual abuse, and employment disputes). Regardless of the issues at hand, we seek to make lasting relationships with clients and guide you through the difficult times to a better outcome.

Spotlight On Current Major Cases

While our practice is always evolving and we strive to learn new areas of law, we are currently litigating several major fire cases, including the Maui Fire cases and the Marshall Fire cases in Colorado. In recent years, we have also expanded our sexual harassment and abuse practice by representing survivors in cases against institutional offenders (i.e. institutions that knew about abuse and failed to take action). Like the tides, litigation is always changing. You need an attorney prepared for anything.

Recent Accomplishments

Over the years we have represented all types of clients, but we believe our successes on behalf of fire survivors are some of our most impactful. Following the 2017 North Bay Fires and the 2018 Camp Fire, we recovered over $100 million for clients who lost their homes in these tragedies. We are also extremely proud of our work representing aggrieved flight attendants against the Fortune 500 company, Alaska Airlines, for violations of California Labor Law. Lead trial counsel and Schack Law Group’s Managing Attorney Natasha Serino was six months pregnant during the trial, which ultimately resulted in the largest civil verdict ever in North County Superior Court ($25 million).
